FAQ
Answers to your questions
Are all your products gluten-free?
Lectin-free always means that gluten-free ingredients are used. However, due to the production process, some products may contain traces of gluten-containing ingredients. If this is the case, we will indicate it on the product label – where it says gluten-free, it truly is gluten-free.
For a lectin-free diet, possible traces of gluten are irrelevant.
Why should I avoid lectins?
Lectins can cause digestive problems, inflammation, or a condition known as "leaky gut" (increased intestinal permeability) in some people. A lectin-free diet supports gut health and can help promote overall well-being.
Can I get all the nutrients I need on a lectin-free diet?
Yes, a well-planned lectin-free diet can provide all essential nutrients. We recommend ensuring a varied diet and adding supplements if needed.
Are there any side effects associated with a lectin-free diet?
No, a lectin-free diet is about eliminating certain foods that can harm the gut. This allows for a balanced diet with sufficient protein and fiber, which can have an anti-inflammatory effect.
Are lectins found in all foods?
No, not all foods contain lectins. They are mainly found in grains, legumes, nightshade vegetables (such as tomatoes, potatoes, and peppers), and some nuts and seeds. Foods like vegetables (e.g., carrots, mushrooms, and cabbage) or animal products from humane farming practices are often lectin-free.
Can I lose weight with a lectin-free diet?
A lectin-free diet is not primarily designed for weight loss, but rather for improving gut health. Nevertheless, many people report losing weight by switching to lectin-free foods, as they avoid processed and high-carbohydrate foods.
Is lectin-free the same as Paleo or Keto?
No, while Paleo and Keto focus on specific macronutrients or original foods, the focus of the lectin-free diet is on avoiding lectins. However, there is some overlap between these diets.
