Uses of sumac

Spice blends: Sumac is an ingredient in many spice blends. For example, to make your own za'atar spice blend, a popular spice mix in the Arab world, you need sumac, roasted sesame seeds, and salt. You can also add other ingredients, such as thyme, coriander, anise, or fennel.

Meat dishes: The tangy freshness of ground sumac berries is also a perfect complement to delicate meat dishes, such as stews like goulash or typical Arabic dishes. Braised vegetables also benefit from this spice, gaining an aromatic and flavorful note.

Salads: This spice has a flavor reminiscent of lemon and vinegar, making it perfect for dressings. It goes just as well with fresh salads as it does with potato salads. You can either make a dressing with it or simply sprinkle it directly over the salad.

Lectin note : Potatoes become lectin-free when cooked in a pressure cooker for 20 minutes on level II.
